Guest Reviews by a Few Influence the Choices of Many

Recent research findings show  that one in five people say online hotel guest reviews are the biggest influencer in their decision of where to stay, yet the research also shows only 6% of guests have posted a review of their hotel stay online. That’s a relatively small percentage of guests that are impacting the choices of 20% of the consumers researching a hotel.  In addition, the online study of over 1,500 US consumers demonstrates that the impact of a bad review on booking decisions is severe.

New study from Chadwick Martin Bailey shows just 33% went online in response to ads watched during the Super Bowl

Chadwick Martin Bailey, a Boston based custom market research firm, asked over 1,500 consumers what, if any action they took in the 24 hours after watching the Super Bowl XLIV ads. It is no secret advertisers were hoping viewers would be going online to chat, tweet, become a Facebook fan or just visit their web site, especially with record viewership and 49% of people watching at home with no guests to distract them.  The results for advertisers, however, were not overwhelmingly positive.

IT Decision Makers Are Still Struggling To Define Cloud Computing

A recent study of close to 300 IT professionals by Chadwick Martin Bailey (CMB), a custom market research and consulting firm, indicates there is still quite a bit of confusion around the definition of cloud computing.  When asked to define cloud computing, many IT decision makers defined it as SaaS, a hosted or managed service or a form of outsourcing. Mid-sized firms and B2B companies are struggling the most at improving the effectiveness of their marketing efforts, according to the results of a landmark survey of more than 400 companies by strategic marketing consultancy CMG Partners and market research firm Chadwick Martin Bailey. The recently released study — entitled The Marketing Performance Advantage — found that while 75% of all participants expressed interest in measuring the performance of their marketing initiatives, mid-sized firms and B2B companies were also more likely to report having no measurement in place or only limited measurement.
