Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist plays a key role in helping our employees support our clients, colleagues, and culture. This role has direct impact across a variety of human resources related responsibilities and will provide the HR Generalist with broad exposure to many different areas of human resources including: benefits, employee relations, compliance, and performance management. The position will report to CMB’s HR Team Lead and complements the responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Specialist.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Benefits

  • Manage all benefits programs, including open enrollment, employee sign-up, and overall administration of benefits programs including changes to employee elections and eligibility
  • Manage all employee leave programs including FMLA, maternity, and others
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits and leave questions
  • Actively participate in the annual health care renewal and/or selection process

Employee Relations

  • Manage and/or assist with employee appreciation events in partnership with CMB’s Office Manager
  • Annually refresh the Employee Handbook in consultations with key stakeholders
  • Manage and update the Manager’s Toolkit
  • Produce and send monthly employee reporting to ITA Group to support CMB’s employee recognition program, Be The Reason
  • Perform exit interviews and summarize feedback for leadership

Compliance

  • Manage employee files and make sure employee information is kept up to date in a variety of locations
  • Maintain CMB’s compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Partner with managers and leadership to draft, edit, and maintain updated job descriptions

Performance Management

  • Manage company-wide development planning and performance review process including 90 Day Check-In, 360 Annual Performance Review and Talent Review processes
  • Act as primary administrator for performance management system, Halogen
  • Actively mentor and coach managers and others, as appropriate

General

  • Consistently uphold CMB’s commitment to diversity
  • Plan and execute initiatives, as assigned
  • Directly participate in talent acquisition and/or training and development activities based on business needs
  • Assist with HR related projects and act as a backup to other members of the HR team, including the Talent Acquisition Specialist

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • 5+ years of related professional experience, ideally in a professional services setting
  • Demonstrated capacity to positively and professionally interact with, and develop and maintain, effective working relationships with all levels of an organization that reflects a broad range of experiences and perspectives
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations required
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Must have solid understanding of the principles of Human Resources administration
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organization skills and high attention to detail
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to priorities multiple projects
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company/employee data
  • Experience with performance management platforms (Halogen preferred)
