Moderator II

The Moderator II understands human behavior and how emotions and values drive decisions for our clients. This person has strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and is a critical thinker and problem solver who can strategically address client needs by translating data into actionable insights. They possess the demonstrated ability to build positive relationships, provide outstanding customer service, and excel in organization and time management.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Client Services Team

  • Adhere to “The CMB Way” (defined approaches, processes, best practices, etc.)
  • Take advantage of training and development opportunities
  • Contributes to a team and/or committee for ongoing CMB initiatives
  • Ensure end-to-end client/project delivery in alignment with Sales and Account Management leading to high client satisfaction with project deliverables

Essential Duties

  • Establishes and nurtures consultative relationships with existing clients, vendors, moderators, peers, senior staff, and other teams
  • Demonstrates confidence in client interactions and communications
  • Owns discussion guide writing, moderating interviews, analysis and reporting
  • Leads analysis of results and develops engaging, insightful, creative, and customized deliverables and presents to the client
  • Oversees creation of the screener and recruiting management as needed
  • Partners in the proposal development process (e.g., schedule, pricing, methodology)
  • Effectively communicates with other project team members and external resources
  • Stays abreast of industry trends, seeks out and brings new techniques and willing to apply them to projects as appropriate
  • Anticipates and identifies project problems and finds solutions independently
  • Presents a CMB University case study annually
  • Participates in peer reviews in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Market-Research, Anthropology, Behavioral Psychology or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in qualitative market research
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience independently managing moderating duties
  • Is RIVA trained or willing to participate within first 6 months on the job
  • Proficient and demonstrated skills in in-person, telephone, online moderating with individuals and groups
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to synthesize findings from disparate sources
  • Excellent at establishing and managing relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with limited supervision
  • Excellent at establishing and managing relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers
  • Is detail-oriented and can work on multiple projects at a time
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software environment
  • Sense of humor and self-aware

Travel Expectations

20 – 40% travel
