Senior Moderator

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Senior Moderator on our Qualitative Services Team. The ideal candidate is someone who understands human behavior and how emotions and values drive decisions for our clients. We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills who is a critical thinker and problem solver. The Senior Moderator will be part of the Qualitative Services Team, strategically addressing client needs by translating data into actionable insights. Candidates for the Senior Moderator position must possess demonstrated ability to build and expand positive relationships, provide outstanding customer service, and excel in organization and time management.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Essential Duties

  • Partners with VP, Practice Leaders, Project Directors and Research Directors on qualitative projects
  • Demonstrates confidence and acts as a trusted advisor when consulting with clients to align on business and research objectives
  • Analyzes results and develops engaging, insightful, creative, and customized deliverables and presents to the client
  • Owns discussion guide writing, moderating interviews, analysis and reporting
  • Oversees creation of the screener and recruiting management
  • Owns the proposal development process (e.g., schedule, pricing, methodology)
  • Effectively communicates with other project team members and external resources
  • Onboards and mentors new CMB talent, when necessary
  • Anticipates and identifies project problems and finds solutions independently
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and/or ‘go to’ person for a specific area of expertise, stays abreast of industry trends, seeks out and brings new techniques and able to apply them to projects
  • Presents a CMB University case study annually
  • Participates in peer reviews in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Market-Research, Anthropology, Behavioral Psychology or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years work experience in qualitative market research, especially in the Financial Services and Insurance industries
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience independently managing moderating duties
  • Advanced in-person, telephone, and online moderating skills with individuals and groups
  • RIVA trained
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to synthesize findings from disparate sources
  • Excellent at establishing, managing and growing relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with limited supervision
  • Excellent at establishing and managing relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers
  • Is detail-oriented and can work on multiple projects at a time
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software environment
  • Sense of humor and self-aware

Expected Travel

  • Between 20-40%
