Consumers Care More About Content Than How it’s Delivered

QUIRKS: When it comes to the technology trends consumers are most excited about, online content delivery ranks at the top of the list, according to a study from Boston research company Chadwick Martin Bailey. When asked which of the recently-hyped technologies they are most excited about, consumers chose movie rentals via the Internet, with 29 percent being extremely excited by this. Having the ability to surf the Web via TV also came in high in at 26 percent.

Social Media Consumers More Likely to Buy, Recommend

MarketingProfs: Two-thirds (67%) of consumers who follow brands on Twitter are more likely to buy those brands after becoming a follower, and 51% of Facebook fans are more likely to buy after becoming a fanaccording to a study from Chadwick Martin Bailey. Moreover, 79% of those who follow brands on Twitter are more likely to recommend those brands after following them, and 60% of Facebook fans say the same for Facebook.

Facebook and Twitter Making a Major Impact on Purchase Decisions

Mashable: A new study shows that those who are fans or followers of a brand on Facebook or Twitter, respectively, are significantly more likely to buy products and services or recommend the brand to a friend. Specifically, the study by Chadwick Martin Bailey and iModerate Research Technologies found that consumers are 67% more likely to buy from the brands they follow on Twitter, and 51% more likely to buy from a brand they follow on Facebook. Moreover, they’re 79% more likely to recommend their Twitter follows to a friend, and 60% more likely to do the same on Facebook.

Social Fans More Likely to Buy- Most brand Followers Report Increased Purchase Intent

eMarketer: Social media marketers looking for an indication that their efforts are helping the bottom line will be encouraged by findings from Chadwick Martin Bailey and iModerate that social friends and followers feel more inclined to purchase from the brands they are fans of. More than one-half of Facebook fans said they are more likely to make a purchase for at least a few brands, and 67% of Twitter followers reported the same.

Mid-sized firms and B2B companies are struggling the most at improving the effectiveness of their marketing efforts, according to the results of a landmark survey of more than 400 companies by strategic marketing consultancy CMG Partners and market research firm Chadwick Martin Bailey. The recently released study — entitled The Marketing Performance Advantage found that while 75% of all participants expressed interest in measuring the performance of their marketing initiatives, mid-sized firms and B2B companies were also more likely to report having no measurement in place or only limited measurement.
