Emily Thor

Insights Director

Emily joined CMB in 2020 as an impact-driven researcher and story-teller, passionate about enabling key strategic business decisions with actionable insights.  She partners closely with a variety of key clients including Disney, DoorDash, and Travel + Leisure, leading custom discrete choice, segmentation, TURF analysis, journey mapping, persona deep-dive research and more. She has over a decade of research and management experience, running the gamut from academic psychology to behavioral economics and market research. Prior to joining CMB, she was the Director of Applied Research for the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, where she developed and led the Chamber’s research efforts for business partners across many industries including media, travel, and technology.  Emily has a BS in Psychology and Linguistics and a Master of Science in Research Psychology from Northeastern University, where her thesis research explored the role of cognitively intuitive language on media consumption and behavioral outcomes. Emily is uniquely qualified to answer questions relating to mindset, emotionality, and decision making.
